Linux gaming - if all else fails: try an Arch-based distro
Over the years, I tried a lot of distros and they all felt very similar when configured with the same graphic shell (KDE Plasma in my case). Whilst I did try Arch, I gave up rather quickly after realizing that my knowledge was lacking. The Wiki was excellent, but I couldn't bring myself to reading it on a recurring basis.
I struggled achieving a consistent gaming experience with Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora (incl. various derivatives). This is no criticism towards these distros: they were excellent but my jinxed hardware kept triggering odd issues. With the Copilot 'experience' looming over me, I gave Arch one more shot but this time with the training wheels of EndeavourOS. To my surprise, the installation was as smooth as with Linux Mint. Once I installed the Nvidia drivers, my gaming experience matched Windows.
Your mileage may vary, but if you keep running into odd issues when gaming, a (beginner-friendly) Arch-based distro might solve them.
I use Arch with training wheels, btw.
